As Election Day 2020 approaches we wanted to share a simple message.

We are proud to live in this democratic republic we call The United States of America and believe strongly in the power of our citizenry to be engaged in the voting process. As Susan B. Anthony said, “Someone struggled for your right to vote. Use it.”

While much has changed this year, certain ideas remain unchanged. This is perhaps expressed most simply by WWII General and Former President, Dwight D. Eisenhower, who said, “the future of this republic is in the hands of the American voter.”

What seems clear is that with respect to your life’s savings, entrusted to us, a true winning strategy is to stay the course.  It is best to take a longer view and appreciate the ingenuity and potential of this country over the arc of time. The visual below shows this strength over time and not any particular day, week, month or year.

Whether your candidates win or lose the day, we owe it to ourselves to remember the words of US Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis who said “the most important office, and the one which all of us can and should fill, is that of private citizen.”
